Microsoft word lock?

Okay, so i am writing a story but i dont want anyone to read it... i am writing it in Microsoft word, i really dont want anyone to read it so is there some way to lock it up so no one can enter it unless they have the password?? the only thing i could find was to lock people from making changes.. is there anything like im looking for??

Open the file (if you have saved it already) and in the File menu click Save As. In the row of buttons along the top of that box is a Tools menu. Pick Security Options. It will pull up a screen that will ask if you want to set up a password.

You could use an encryption program to do this.

(1) Get a file encryption program and encrypt the file (thus requiring a password before it'll open).

(2) Or save the file on a flash drive only and keep that with you or hidden.

(3) Password protect the entire PC if it's your PC.
