I actually downloaded 2 times of Microsoft DirectX 9.0c Runtime but when i install it...after it extracts files...nothing happens...it just extracts then...finished...there's no even...INSTALLATION FINISHED...NOT even like that...as in nothing...i look up to the conrol panel%26gt;Add/remove programs..to see the installed programs...then i did'nt see it...so it means it's not installed...now how...how can i use my Sony Vegas v6...because Sony Vegas v6 requires the Microsoft DirectX 9.0c Runtime so i need it...pls. help me...tell me where to download it safely, free and....that will be installed and work successfully...

Click START%26gt;RUN, then type
dxdiag
A window will popup with tabs at the top, click the first tab 'System'. On this page will be lots of data, the very bottom line should show your version of DirectX.

wow david got it right on how to see what you hav and oz i think got it right on how to fix it. lotta help i am, but i did check it out a bit. so try it out and i'll bet it works.
When you get it from microsoft and do a auto download. It only downloads the downloader / installer. And then downloads the rest when you click install. Are you online when you try to install it. Heres the download page for the redistributable package for IT professionals. Its the whole thing not just the downloader. Download it and try to reinstall .

After you install it go to Start%26gt; Run%26gt; type: dxdiag The directx diagnostic will come up if its successful
